One of our recently launched WordPress powered sites has been flagged by the client as loading slowly when compared to similar or larger websites. The site belongs to a client based in the USA, where (because of lightning fast broadband connections) there is an expectation that sites should load pretty much instantly.
We have run through all the usual tests and done everything we normally do to make sure the site is optimized for speed. But this is not enough. We need to speed the site up further and have decided to open up and discuss the process by which we solve this issue. Our hope is that whatever solution we come up with is useful to others who may be experiencing similar WordPress speed issues.
Our next post in this series will outline the steps we normally take to ensure our sites run as fast as possible. And the final post will (hopefully) outline the solutions we find to make WordPress sites load at rocket speeds!
