Case Studies Marcus Lyon

Mobile App for Change-Makers

Marcus Lyon, an internationally renowned artist, approached Tenacity Works to develop an interactive storytelling mobile app for his groundbreaking project, De.Coded. The Human Atlas project explores the lives of remarkable individuals driving social impact across various fields, showcasing their stories through photographic portraits, app-based oral histories, infographic mapping, and ancestral DNA. The app needed to bridge the gap between the physical exhibition and the digital realm, allowing users to delve deeper into the stories behind the portraits they encountered.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was to create an elegant app solution that would enable gallery attendees and readers of the De.Coded book to scan the candidates’ portraits, triggering spoken word testimonies. This required a high level of image recognition using machine learning technologies, capable of recognising over 100 candidate images from any angle and in any light condition. Additionally, the app needed to seamlessly integrate with the book design, maintaining a consistent visual aesthetic and user experience.

The Solution

Tenacity Works developed a cutting-edge interactive storytelling app that aggregates the visual, textual, and audio components of the De.Coded project. The app utilizes advanced image recognition and machine learning technologies to identify the portraits, retrieving related content and enabling users to listen to candid interviews with the featured change-makers. The app’s design mirrors the aesthetics of the book, creating a cohesive experience for users as they explore the stories behind the portraits.

Conclusion

The De.Coded interactive storytelling app was incredibly well-received, forming an integral part of the project’s successful global rollout. Through deep planning, efficient project management, and a results-based focus, Tenacity Works delivered a powerful tool that connects users with the inspiring stories of change-makers. The Marcus Lyon App Case Study exemplifies Tenacity Works‘ expertise in developing innovative solutions that bridge the physical and digital worlds, creating meaningful, interactive experiences.
